Get A Vision
Proverbs 29:18, Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
I have heard this verse preached many times in my life. Usually, I heard it preached in regards to salvation. But, after I read and studied this verse. I see it in a whole new meaning now. The “vision” it speaks of simply means, and understanding or revelation of God’s word in our hearts, and lives. So often I think people neglect to quote the last half of the verse. “…but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”. We must keep God’s law, his word, in order to be happy. We need to have his law, his word, revealed to us, we need to understand it, in order to have that vision.
If we are keeping his law, then we will obey what it says. The “Great Commission” tells us to preach the Gospel to EVERY creature in this world. If we don’t have an understanding of this command, then not only will the lost world perish, but we will perish in this life. And by “perish”, I mean we loose God’s blessings in our life if we are not being obedient to his law.
Determine in your life that you will keep His law. That you will have a vision, and understanding of his word. And by keeping his law, you can’t help but obey what it tells you to do.
Don’t perish in your own life for failing to obey. For through our disobedience, we will cause others, especially the lost soul, to perish.
